Join us for a dreamy, eight-day yoga retreat in the magical beachside village of Agonda, Goa.

Sampoorna Yoga Centre started as a yoga school in 2009 and has since become one of the best in India and the world.

Start your day with an uplifting vinyasa yoga class in one of our several outdoor yoga shalas, three of which have a stunning sea view to gaze upon while you practise. What a perfect way to boost your morning mood and fill you with endorphins for your day!

After this, nourish your body with a delicious, healthy buffet breakfast such as oats, fruits, nuts, cereals, bread and Indian dishes.

During the day, you will have plenty of free time to do whatever you feel like doing - relaxing in a hammock around the retreat grounds, sunbathing on the amazing beach (just a few minutes’ walk away), shopping in some of Agonda’s amazing boutiques or pampering yourself with an Indian massage.

A hearty lunch will be served in the middle of the day, offering salads, soups, nuts, different types of houmous and Indian dishes.

At the end of the day, we will unwind with a relaxing yin or restorative yoga class while the sun sets over the horizon - this is truly a magical experience!

The evening yoga will be followed by a traditional, healthy Indian dinner (and dessert, of course!).

After dinner, we will sometimes have additional activities such as sound baths or bedtime meditation sessions to send you off into a peaceful slumber.

The surrounding area of Agonda is not to be missed - long sandy beaches, swaying palm trees, beach cows and rainbow colours everywhere.

Most importantly on this retreat, we want you to do whatever makes your soul happy! All activities are optional and if you want to skip yoga to drink cocktails on the beach - no problem! We have a zero judgement policy and we encourage you to follow your bliss at all times.

The Accommodation

Sampoorna Yoga Centre is spread over 5 acres (22,000 square meters) of land so there is plenty of space for everyone to enjoy and relax, with a total of five yoga studios (three of which have a sea view). There is also a gym if you wish to use it. The centre is less than one minute’s walk from the stunning beach!

You will be staying in a beautiful Zen Cottage - you can choose from either a private solo cottage or a twin/double for two people.

All cottages are spacious and well-ventilated, featuring a private bathroom, comfortable beds with mosquito nets, wifi, air conditioning, towels, big wardrobes and electronic lockers.

The Yoga

Yoga classes will be led by Sanya, who has been practising yoga for over 10 years and teaching for five. She initially trained in Ashtanga and Vinyasa Flow at Sampoorna Yoga in Goa, India, and went on to complete further trainings with The Yoga People in Yin and Mandala Flow, as well as a Buti Yoga certification. She has taught clients all over the world (Mexico, Costa Rica, Portugal, London, Nicaragua, India etc!), from high end hotels to festivals and has been featured in The Sun.

The morning yoga classes will be Vinyasa Flow style - a dynamic sequence of postures linked with the breath, to get the blood pumping and the muscles working! Expect to sweat, but there will be options for all levels of experience and you are encouraged to be kind to your body, taking things at your own pace. Whether you are a beginner or seasoned yogi, these classes will leave you feeling strong and rejuvenated. Savasana never felt so good!

The evening classes will be a much more relaxed affair to wind down your day, either in Yin or Restorative style. We’ll hold the postures for much longer and allow our bodies to sink into a deep state of bliss as we focus on the breath and cultivate divine awareness of the present moment.

All classes will have a backing of euphoric music and will incorporate breathwork, meditation and mindfulness.

No matter your level of yoga experience, you are welcome in Sanya’s classes! From beginners to advanced, there will be options for all - even if you can’t touch your toes!

The Food

Breakfast: Oats, cereals, muesli, one Indian dish, gluten-free breads, seasonal fruits (watermelon, papaya, pineapple, banana, apple, grapes, orange, pomegranate, etc.), dairy, soy and almond milk, curd, peanut butter, honey, black tea, Indian masala chai, coffee, organic sugar or jaggery, etc.

Lunch: Salads (with spinach, lettuce, basil, rocket, and a few other leaves, nuts, fruits, dressings), soups, different types of hummus, Indian dishes, momos, etc.

Dinner: We serve traditional healthy Indian vegetarian dishes.

Dessert: We are big fans of desserts. We serve you home-made desserts for every single dinner.

Drinking water: We offer unlimited free filtered water. Students can find water filters installed in all our shalas, and the restaurant. We also offer packaged water bottles if you want to buy, although we discourage it due to the plastic waste it produces.

Tea/coffee: Always available for free.

Snacks: We offer two tea breaks during the day, and we serve herbal tea/Indian chai, bananas, and/or some snacks.

We offer a varied menu based on local produce and what is available in the market according to the season. For this reason, our menu is set and it’s difficult for us to change it or to cater any other specific diets. However, and whenever it is easily doable for us, we can try to help a few students with dietary restrictions offering a few other options, if needed.

The Location

Sampoorna Yoga Centre is located in the magical little village of Agonda Beach in South Goa, India.

Although Agonda has been ranked as one of the top five best beaches in Asia consistently for more than 8 years, according to Trip Advisor, it still is a very quiet, clean and non-touristy beach with a 3.5 km-long stretch of white sand.

It’s the perfect place to unwind, sunbathe, swim and meditate, plus its west-facing shores mean that you can also experience some of the most extraordinarily beautiful tropical sunsets the sub-continent has to offer!

Sampoorna Yoga Centre is just 100m from the beach - less than one minute to walk!

Half of the property is on an elevated hill which provides the most stunning sea views

Dabolim International Airport (GOI) is the closest airport and is approximately 90 minutes away by taxi. The taxi fare is the equivalent of around 30 EUR each way.

If you are travelling with another person, you can share a private cottage for the two of you, with either two twin beds or one double.

If you are travelling solo but would like to share a cottage with another guest to save costs, just let us know and we may be able to pair you up with someone.

The Boring Bit

We require an initial 50% deposit to secure your booking. This is fully refundable if you cancel before 4th September 2022.

We require 100% of your booking package to be paid by 4th December 2022.

If payments are not received by the dates stated on your booking form, we reserve the right to cancel your booking without offering any refunds (unless this occurs before the 4th September).

Any payments made are fully refundable for cancellations before 4th September 2022. After this, they are non-refundable. We highly recommend that you purchase travel insurance that covers you for the amount of your payments if you are unable to attend due to any reason including any impact of COVID-19.

If we are able to fill your spot, we may be able to refund you in other circumstances, or allow you to transfer the amount of your payments to a future retreat, but this is subject to our discretion.

It is your own responsibility to check the travel restrictions and requirements (including visas) for travel from your country to India.

During our retreat, we will be complying with all safety and protection from COVID-19 guidelines as they are set in India at that time.

All guests are required to have their own travel insurance and we highly recommend that you purchase cover for COVID-19 related cancellations and/or infection.

If the retreat has to be cancelled by us for any reason, any deposits will of course be refunded in full. We are very optimistic that all COVID-19 related restrictions will have been lifted by the retreat start date, but we recommend that you book flexible flights just in case of unexpected circumstances.
